The swimmers were wonderful and very kind to the children. They gave an amazing perspective of what it’s like for them each personally to be champion swimmers, and in the case of my child, made workouts and tweaking strokes to improve speed suddenly make sense. It was a great experience for my son.

Streamlining looked SO much better!
September 23rd, 2019
I really appreciate the way the clinicians spoke to the kids. They both took the time to tell their stories and shed a lot of light on what it takes to train to be a competitive athlete. My daughter had fun and has already asked to attend another clinic. Her streamlining looked SO much better in practice following the clinic as well.

Really made an impact
September 23rd, 2019
My son really enjoyed all 3 coaches – Brett Hawke, Aly Tetzloff, and Sam Hoekstra. He had them sign autographs both days and is retiring the cap they signed so he can display it in his room. My son loves to use his upper body strength when swimming and tends to neglect his kick; the drills for kicking and the emphasis placed on it really made an impact on him. He immediately wrote down all the advice they gave him and my husband reports he was utilizing it in swim practice the next day!

Indianapolis, IN – Backstroke
September 23rd, 2019
Fun, energetic staff sharing their stories on how they got to where they are today. Telling stories about Olympic Trials and the Olympics was pretty amazing for these young kids to hear. Definitely invested instructors who were committed to each and every kid no matter their skill level. This weekend in Indy was life changing for our non-backstroke loving kid! He now wants to swim this at his next meet!

We have been to several Fitter and Faster clinics, and thought the Breaststroke clinic we attended today in Fremont, OH was the best yet! Kristy and Andrew were both so enthusiastic and engaging. I love that Kristy was a teacher for so long, her abilities to connect with children really shone through. My daughters both said this was their favorite clinic also, and really liked how both clinicians explained WHY they were suggesting certain techniques. They said their coaches have taught them similar things in terms of what & how to do things, but they don’t always explain WHY they are doing them. Now that they have a better understanding of what they are hoping to accomplish with each movement, they feel they will be able to better execute them. Thank you for another great experience!

My 8 year old just finished the stroke and kick clinic in Laurel, MD. She had a fabulous experience. Connor and Courtney Jaegar were an incredible team. They held the attention of a sizable 12 and under group through 2 mornings of instruction and were able to effectively communicate proper stroke and kick techniques to all of them. My daughter has just moved up from developmental to AG2 and the techniques that were taught will absolutely assist her in keeping up with the older kids. Furthermore, these techniques are not ones being taught at the swim club level. My daughter will absolutely benefit from learning to “do it right” at an early age, if she decides to stick with swimming long term. I was REALLY impressed with the both of the coaches and with the clinic overall. I think as a parent, what I appreciated most, was having my 8 year old listen to Courtney and Conner’s own experience from club swim to college swim and then on to Olympic trials. To some degree, I think their stories conveyed the bigger picture of what she is working toward by going to practice 4 nights a week. Courtney and Connor were just young enough to be relatable, but old enough for my daughter to be celebrity star struck. Making it to the Olympics was not the message. Rather, working toward something bigger than yourself, time management, the benefits of collegiate swimming, and working through disappointments and celebrating successes was the message. This message was amplified by the personal connection made between these two coaches and the kids during the swim portion of the clinic. After the second session, my daughter exclaimed, “I just got a high five from one of the best swimmers in the country!” We will absolutely be taking advantage of future Fitter and Faster clinics. My only suggestion would be to provide the kids with a swim cap or t-shirt to commemorate this wonderful experience.
Best we’ve been to so far!

Excellent clinicians. Both John and Clark were awesome. Very engaged and it really helped having one out of the water explaining while the other was demonstrating in the water. Also, having two was good if a kiddo was slow to finish a drill, one clinician could be working with that child and the other could keep things moving with the group. Was great having only sixteen kids as the clinicians seemed they could really watch them and get around to adding feedback and praise where necessary. John was super with the kids…high-fiving and really encouraging them! And he was nice and loud which was really helpful as it’s sometimes hard to hear in the natatoriums. All around great clinic…best we’ve been to so far!

10 clinics – best clinic she’s attended!
September 10th, 2019
My daughter has attended almost 10 clinics in the span of 7 years. She has always learned something from every camp and has enjoyed meeting and learning from every clinician. This camp however sparked a fire in her that was palpable! She came home and talked for hours about what she learned about how awesome the clinicians were. She stated it was her favorite clinic out of all the clinics she’s attended. My daughter had an absolutely fabulous time. She came home pumped up about the breaststroke and ready for the upcoming season. She’s been to a lot of Fitter Faster clinic and she said this was by far the best clinic she’s attended. The clinicians were very down to earth and relayed well to the kids.
So thank you for that!

First Clinic!
August 23rd, 2019
Tyler did an excellent job communicating to young swimmers. I liked how he would build on the subject he was teaching. Tyler would demonstrate each step and then have the swimmers practice each phase to improve the technique. She is looking forward to practicing a tighter and faster flip turn and skills learned for an improved streamline and breakout and finish!

Marina was absolutely wonderful!
August 21st, 2019
Marina was absolutely wonderful. She is a born teacher with a great personality, and she related well with all the kids. We had swimmers with a wide range of abilities, but she spent time with each one to make sure that each got the advice and tips that he or she needed. You could tell that it meant a lot to her for all the kids to learn. I also learned a lot that will help me as a coach. It was very rewarding to have my swimmers ask at the next practice if we could do some of the drills that Marina taught. They were very inspired. We would love to be able to host another clinic next year!
