Excellent communication with clear demonstrations

August 5th, 2020

Both Marina and Norbert were absolutely great – excellent communication with clear demonstrations… they were approachable yet had an amazing combo of humility and confidence too! My daughter loved the 1-on-1 feedback and constructive criticism. You all added to her enthusiasm for swim practice and hopefully soon competition too!

Looking forward to our next camp!!

August 5th, 2020

A lot of technique was discussed, and I’m excited to see my son’s growth as the skill-sets are truly learned and become muscle memory. Both clinicians worked really well together and gave great feedback! They were great at really trying to look at each swimmer and offer feedback/ praise! My son tends to be an introvert, and has really found himself thru swimming. He was very anxious about doing a camp, but he really enjoyed every moment (even with the Covid precautions). The facility was beautiful, and perfect for the event. We are looking forward to our next camp!! Small student/coach ratio-so attentive feedback!

Become the best that you can be!

August 5th, 2020

Get ready! Put on your goggles and be ready because improvement is heading your way! Perfect your free, make the best out of your turns and kicks. Fall short on your Fly, not after we are done with you and get ready to do the best breast stroke ever! Learn, Listen and improve, become the best that you can be with Fitter and Faster Clinics.

Thank you for the attention that was given to my granddaughter. She swims up with older kids on a normal basis and competes well against them however she is ADHD and you both did great with her and helped her understand. They changed her hand positioning in the back stroke where her hands were not straight but curved, I was glad this was finally shown to her. I also liked seeing that she carried it into her practice last night.

Great job guys! You both did such a great job!

August 5th, 2020

Being recognized by Tyler as a talented swimmer gave her so much self-confidence. Tyler made such an impact on the confidence of my daughter Julianna that she was smiling ear to ear. They helped her see the purpose of swimming and how she can use that to be more self-confident. The recognition from 2 top athletes was more of a win for a 9 year old girl than any gold medal. Great job guys! You both did such a great job in recognizing Julianna, and showing her that she has talent boosted her self-esteem to a level I’ve never seen. You gave her a gold medal that day, and we can use that pride in herself to help her be a better student and better person. She was so excited leaving the clinic and we were sad that she had to go to Space Camp and couldn’t attend the second day. She is asking me to attend another clinic because of the feeling of self-worth you guys gave her. I can’t say enough for the professionalism and personal touch you gave my daughter, thank you doesn’t do it justice. I highly recommend this clinic because of the response I got from her in the car after leaving the facility.

First clinic!

August 5th, 2020

I really appreciated how my clinician explained how to breathe during an open turn. The drill she used was very appropriate and she gave us plenty of time to practice it and was very attentive to each individual as we practiced.

Love these smaller groups!

August 5th, 2020

Love these smaller groups. The curriculum is already awesome and the kids get more correction in small groups. John and Amina were so welcoming and kind! The instruction is unparalleled. Both John and Amina are outstanding with younger athletes. They know how to teach and support!

Dropped over 6 seconds!

August 5th, 2020

Claire learned so much on how to properly start and use techniques on how to finish strong. It was so helpful she dropped over 6 seconds on multiple events in just two weeks. My daughter really felt like Gary Hall, Jr. helped her with such ease and used positive ways to instruct her in the pool. She appreciated he took the time to talk to her outside the pool and really point her strengths.

THANK YOU Christopher and Will!

August 5th, 2020

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics are a rare opportunity to learn from an experienced, knowledgeable and friendly Olympian. Swimmers receive strong training, great skill work and lots of personal feedback. THANK YOU Christopher and Will! My son can not say enough great things about working with you. He loved that you not only watched him do the drills, but that you gave specific feedback and watched him again to see if it improved. In a crowded swim practice, that is sometimes hard to get. But with this socially distanced camp, it was just the right amount of swimmers to allow for true progress! Your feedback was on target for what he needed, constructive not harsh, and soooo positive. You both are wonderful with kids. We are so sorry you aren’t in Tokyo, but so thankful you came to us! Fitter and Faster was amazing to work with to set up, execute and watch. Nottingham is lucky to have had this experience and we would welcome another!

Worth the long drive!

August 5th, 2020

I was very impressed with just how much was packed into each session. Lots of good tips that my daughter took home with her and is using in practice now. The effort put into giving individual feedback to each participant was outstanding. We drove to Webb City from Wisconsin and it was worth the long drive. Marina and Norbert made a great team, very efficient and fun! Thank you!!

COVID-era camp review from host in Mt. Airy, MD

August 3rd, 2020

Email re-published with permission
To Fitter and Faster,
Fitter and Faster was amazing to work with. Matt Jordan, from the pool board had some people worried on his end, and we are so thankful that you all were willing to try to ease their fears and work with us. Everyone at Fitter and Faster went above and beyond to work with the Pool Board and Swim team to bring an amazing experience. Due to COVID 19 and no swim season in our area this summer, there was concern over what an event like this would and could look like. David (Arluck) and the whole Fitter and Faster team had countless conversations and emails answering every single question anyone on our end had, problem solved with us and had great protocols already in place that they walked us through. It was clear during every conversation and email that the FFT team not only wanted this event to happen, but wanted it done with extreme safety in place.
So many details went into this from discussions about the pool deck and set up, spacing in the pool, rewording of our contract, sending out the pools own Covid waiver, etc. Not once did the pool board liaison to this event or I feel like the answers, accommodations and ideas F and F had were unsafe. We felt 100% heard, respected and like we were a true team in making this happen- all before the clinicians even showed up. I can not say enough about my experience working with F and F. You are a true asset to the swimming community!
Both Matt and I were down at the pool all weekend and we had zero doubts about the safety of the event!
Christopher (Reid) and Will set a good tone for safety from the start. We set up cones about 8 feet apart for swimmers to put their belongings on deck. Everyone wore masks in the pool house and when not engaged in the camp (in line for autographs, pictures, etc). Swimmers were 3 to a lane and lined up as one on the blocks, one 6 feet back on concrete and the third on the grass. The clinician had them swim odd numbers of laps so that they would exit at the other end of the pool to minimize cross over time (ie a 75 meter free warm up, 75 meter stroke of choice, 25 meter free, etc). They constantly reminded swimmers to distance, but were so upbeat and positive about it. They modeled distancing too. When they wanted to demonstrate something they asked people to move back or down.
We had zero questions of safety this weekend. And more importantly, Will and Christopher were amazing clinicians. So easy to work with, kind, helpful, knowledgeable and the kids LOVED THEM. Our head coach loved interacting with them, and learned a lot herself. We would welcome Fitter and Faster back next summer! We posted on our team’s social media and many people are now interested that did not participate and hoping we do this again. Thank you for bringing us this amazing experience and YES please, we would love to do this again!
